Discover Latin dance in the back of a pub in London!
June 14, 2024
Latin Groove Hub was founded in January 2024. Our goal is to establish a vibrant community of dance enthusiasts who, in addition to enjoying the allure of salsa and bachata, forge bonds with one another via the art of dance. Classes take place every Tuesday in a cosy room in the back of The Ship in Wandsworth, London.
We think dancing is more than just learning moves. It’s an opportunity to express oneself, celebrate culture, and have fun, while also burning calories through physical exercise. After an hour or two, you will definitely be sweating from all the twists, turns, and footwork!
At Latin Groove Hub, it doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or an experienced dancer, we cater to all levels.

Here is why you should join us:
- We provide a fun form of fitness, where you can stay active while having a good time. Dancing improves your cardiovascular health, flexibility and overall fitness. And, because you’ll be having so much fun, you won’t even realise you’re working out!
- Learn about a cultural tradition. By learning salsa and bachata, you will gain an insight into the histories and stories of Latin America, where dance is at the epicentre of many communities.
- Make your Tuesday evenings social and meet new people at our weekly classes. You will most definitely see regular faces too! Be part of our growing community, which encourages interaction and connection. We welcome everyone, regardless of age or experience.
- Overcome fear and embarrassment. One of the barriers to joining a dance class is fear of looking foolish, fear of not keeping up, or fear of the unknown. Latin Groove Hub is a welcoming space designed to be supportive and encouraging.
What sets us apart from other Latin dance spaces in London?
Well it’s simple. We are in the back of a pub. We don’t have a big studio space, or multiple rooms. We have one cozy room which fills up with positive energy every week thanks to our flourishing community. And because we’re located inside a pub, it’s easy to grab a drink and some food before or after, with new friends. But, it’s also a space that welcomes those who choose sobriety. We know this is a growing trend in the social space, and we completely support anyone’s choice to not drink. Basically, there’s no pressure. At Latin Groove Hub, you come for the vibes, and leave with a smile.
What to expect?
- Professional Instructors – our regular instructor currently is Alex, but every now and then we have guest instructors who come and visit us. All our instructors are extremely enthusiastic about dance, and will guide you through each step, ensure you’re feeling confident and having fun.
- We give you the choice on our website to book a salsa class or bachata class, or both – so it’s up to you what style you want to try, but both salsa and bachata are available every week.
- Schedule – Our bachata class usually begins at 7pm, and some people arrive a little before, to have a chat before the class begins. Then, our salsa class is at 8pm. Usually some people go, who just came for the Bachata class, and some others arrive, who have come to only attend the salsa class – so it’s very flexible. Once both classes have finished, there is free social dancing for all, so you can try out any new moves you have learnt.
